We have a lot on our minds, as we approach Lille’s TGV station. The weather seems to be closing in, and we are making final preparations to turn in our car and depart for Brugges. It’s too easy to disregard your surroundings, when you’re preoccupied; but a Japanese artist took care of that little problem.
Alas – We enjoy a moment of serendipity, when we come upon a “garden” of colorful, tulip-like flowers. It’s quite a whimsical contrast to the sleek, contemporary railroad station and Euralille Shopping Center. That’s one of the many things we love about France – those little surprises, the appreciation of art and originality.
